A gray dwarf warlord guards access to the habitat of the legendary shardfin, a species now extinct in the Inner Planes.

With gemstone scales that are highly prized for their esoteric properties, the duergar king has invited select petitioners to compete for the rare chance to  harvest the shardfin adults.
