Direct violence carries a terrible price, so survival depends on sharper weapons: legwork, disguises, secret signs, bribery, noble-house gifts, and the nerve to keep smiling when a guard grows suspicious.
A complete one-session introduction to After the Fall
Ashes to Venom is a stand-alone Fifth Edition adventure for four to six players using the six included 1st-level drow characters. It is designed for a single three- to four-hour session and requires access to the Fifth Edition core rules.
The adventure uses the 2014 rules in its body text, with sidebars for relevant 2024 adjustments. Its stealth rules turn near misses into escalating pressure: an observer can become Intrigued, then Suspicious, then Alerted. Careful planning, quick thinking, and a convincing cover story can matter as much as a drawn blade.

Continue beyond level 1
This starter contains the six two-page level-1 heroes only. An expanded four-page character collection covering levels 1–5—including different level-1 builds—is planned as a future $4.99 standalone release. It is not included with this starter. When released, it will be included at no extra cost with any main After the Fall book in PDF or print.
