The Leonid family was not long ago a rising star in imperial Klavekian politics and now draws close to the brink of disaster by heartbreak and ill-understood tragedy.

Now, the family’s dwindling fortunes are invested entirely in the remote colony of Rybalka and its sole young heir, the troubled mage Anastasia. Nevertheless, its founding patriarch Igor Leonid remains a capable ruler willing and able to reward those who serve him well.
