The Lineage of the Klavekian Tsars

The Klavek Empire boasts one of the longest, strangest, and most tumultuous dynasties in the known world. From kraken-plagued shores to undead rulers, cursed bloodlines, fish-born regents, and magical deceptions, the imperial lineage reflects a nation shaped by ambition, sacrifice, sorcery, and civil war. This living timeline outlines the most notable reigns in Klavekian history, leading up to the current ruler, King Tokolvor Klavek XIII.


Founding and the Dvagaslov Princes (-520 to -350)

  • ~-520 to -490: Years of the Angry Sea – The Kraken terrorizes the eastern coast.
  • ~-500: Prince Yuri Dvagaslov, founder of Mohkba, establishes the Sophianeum. This year marks the official founding of Klavek.
  • -495: Construction of the Emerald Fortress begins.
  • -492: Death of Prince Yuri. His descendants usher in the age of the Dvagaslovs:
  • Draco I (the Prince who kissed the Claw) submits to the Saatman Empire
  • Draco II (the Dragonslayer) rebels and defeats Saatman
  • Draco III (the Traitor Prince) attempts to restore Saatman
  • Yaroslaw, the Witch (founded Alvarov’s Monastery)

The Shadow Years and the Rise of the Tsars (-350 to -85)

  • Large portions of early records lost after the fall of the Sunshard.
  • Gregory I crowns himself as the first Tsar.
  • Gregory II (the Twiceborn) and Pjotr I & II bring stability.
  • Gregory III (the Alchemist) and Pjotr III reign during the time of the Sunshard’s fall (Year 0).

The Age of Resurrection, Rebellion, and the Fishes (3 to 280)

  • Gregory IV (the Pilot Tsar) leads post-cataclysm recovery.
  • The Shadow Years (no ruler), then Gregory IV returns (resurrected).
  • The Anatol Line begins (the Sinner Tsars).
  • Leo I-V bring eccentricity, cursed fish lineages, magical resurrection, and tragedy:
  • Leona I (the Cold Fish)
  • Leona II (the Old Fish)
  • Leo VI (the Unwise)

Civil Wars, Builders, Necromancers & Devils (280 to 590)

  • The Soulbound Tsar makes a devil pact.
  • Yevgeni I (Devilslayer) ends the infernal bloodline.

The Yevgeni Dynasty and Their Laws (590 to 754)

  • Yevgeni II moves a mountain to settle a border conflict.
  • Yevgeni IV enacts the Holy Law forbidding Klavekian humans from mining.
  • Yevgeni VI-VIII bring strange times, including:
  • A silent ruler
  • A mechanical construct impersonating a tsar
  • Yevgeni IX, a half-elf, sparks the Elfson War, leading to the Second Holy Law:
    • The ruler must be born of a full-blooded human woman
    • Must be alive (and never dead for over two days)
    • May not make pacts with outsiders

The Return of the Tokolvors (950 to Present)

  • Alexei III to V, Yuri I, and others rule through relative peace and splendor
  • The Troubles (civil war) ends in 1077
  • The Prophecy names House Tokolvor as future rulers
