Klavek Empire – Power, Patriotism, and Peril in the Frozen North
The Klavek Empire stands as one of the most dominant military powers on the northern continent. Stretching across vast, snow-covered lands, the Empire is a land of harsh winters, harder people, and unyielding loyalty. Though its reach is mighty, it is ruled with a cold and iron grip by King Tokolvor XIII, a ruthless strategist whose ambitions are as vast as his empire.
The Iron Reign of Tokolvor XIII
King Tokolvor XIII is a name spoken with a mix of awe and fear. A towering presence both on the battlefield and in court, Tokolvor is as known for his military brilliance as he is for his iron-fisted rule. Determined to eradicate the Vikmordere threat, the King has poured resources into fortifying border settlements and launching punitive raids deep into the mountains.
Rumors abound that agents loyal to Tokolvor lurk in every town and outpost, rooting out dissent before it can take hold. Public criticism of the crown is not tolerated, and those who defy the monarchy often vanish without a trace.
Despite the King’s severe methods, Klavekians are fiercely patriotic. Life in the Empire is unforgiving, and its people have grown resilient. Though they receive little direct aid from the monarchy, communities rally together, bound by a shared identity, and a deep-rooted desire to defend their homeland.
A Harsh and Expansive Realm
The Klavek Empire spans a massive portion of the northern continent. Snow and ice dominate the terrain, with wind-scoured plains, jagged mountain ranges, and vast frozen forests. Agriculture is scarce, but timber, ore, and fur form the backbone of local economies.
Most Klavekians are laborers, trappers, miners, or soldiers. Even in isolated villages, imperial loyalty runs deep, and suspicion toward outsiders is common. Threats from monsters, raiders, and rival factions are a constant reality.
The Vikmordere Conflict
The Empire’s most enduring enemy is the Vikmordere, a tribal people of the mountains and forests. For centuries, they have raided riverside settlements, striking without warning from boats and hidden passes. Though their numbers are fewer today, the Vikmordere remain a persistent danger, especially in the wilds surrounding Serpent Lake.
The King’s response has been swift and brutal, establishing strongholds along the Vikmordere border and reinforcing loyalist villages. Yet the conflict remains unresolved, a festering wound in the Empire’s icy grip.

Notable Locations
Mohkba (Capital City)
The beating heart of the Klavek Empire. Mohkba is a fortress-like city of stone walls, towering spires, and gilded onion-domes. Home to the royal court, the Empire’s largest military installations, and powerful noble houses, Mohkba is both revered and feared. It is a place of politics, espionage, and martial discipline.
Rybalka (Frontier Village)
Positioned at the edge of Serpent Lake in Vikmordere, Rybalka is a remote settlement built atop the ruins of a former Vikmordere village. Seized during a brutal campaign, Rybalka now serves as a bastion of imperial control in the frozen mountains. It is a central location for the Aventyr Campaign Setting, where many adventures begin.
The Three Sisters (Border Towns)
Known collectively as The Three Sisters, these closely linked towns sit downstream from Fort Anton and serve as the first line of imperial support for those traveling down the Serpent River or south from Mohkba. They provide trade, rest, and news to travelers and soldiers alike.
Morsain (Outland City)
Located far from the capital along a dangerous road, Morsain has a turbulent relationship with Mohkba. Plagued by guerrilla attacks from non-human enclaves and abandoned during times of crisis, its citizens have grown wary of the crown. At times, they withhold resources in protest, walking a thin line between loyalty and rebellion.
