DESCRIPTION
This heavy mace has been crafted entirely out of a calcified femur bone from a very large creature. Its handle is wrapped in strips of troll hide leather that are tightly bound to provide an ample grip.
A trollbane mace is a +1 heavy mace that functions as a +3 heavy mace when used against trolls and trollkin. A trollbone mace permeates an “aura of recognition” that causes any troll and trollkin within a 60-ft.-radius of the wielder to instantaneously know that the weapon is crafted from the bone of a cave troll as soon as they see it. The aura of recognition also grants the wielder with a +10 to Intimidate checks vs. trolls and trollkin as a fear effect (DC 25 Will save negates).
Once per day the wielder of a trollbone mace may spend a standard action to activate one of the weapon’s two magical abilities. The skin of stone ability casts stoneskin upon the wielder (CL 5th), and the troll’s blood ability grants the wielder 150 temporary hit points, though these temporary hit points disappear after 1d4+2 rounds.
