    Someday soon…. 2018? You will be seeing an Aventyr Campaign Setting book. I’m going to gather the masses (herd cats) and see what I can do for you all! 😀

    Hello,
    I’m Clint Doyle, long time gamer, started with the updated red box (and have since collected a few of the previous versions as well). Still have some of my old dice with the crayons in the numbers. Moved onwards to AD&D, fell in love with the DragonLance (RIP) series of adventures, sadly only getting my hands on the first 10. My gap in playing included 2nd edition (only picked up two books) and then have continued with 3.0/3.5 and Pathfinder. Sometimes our long time DM gets “RPG ADD” as he calls it, so we play a few sessions of some game he’s come across (Fate based games, Numenera, Fate of the Norns: Ragnorak, Mutant: Year Zero to name a few) and currently running a forum based game of Nocturnal Media’s King Arthur Pendragon.
    I have an almost complete collection of 4th Edition, wanting to embrace it, but failing, and relegating them to storage. Back into 5th, we dabbled a bit, but then as a gaming group, we have jumped around a bit. Our current campaign that I’m playing in is a 3.5 adventure set in the amazing (and brutal) world of Ptolus.
    That DM is taking a break from being DM for probably a year, and I’ll be stepping in (been a while since I’ve been a DM) to run some 5th Edition and Pathfinder (maybe even dabble in Starfinder). Looking forward to getting back into running things, and continuing with my grand master plan of creating a world of my own to run them through.

    Hey everyone, I’m Josh Bender. Huge fan of Pathfinder, especially creatures and locations. I love tearing through third-party content for new monsters and interesting locations.

    Started out playing the Star Wars d20 systems first before diving into d20 Modern and then Pathfinder. Not too big on Starfinder; I find too different than Pathfinder for my taste. Prefer Starjammer since I can use it with Pathfinder without any converting.

    Hi, My name is Beth Fields.

    I’m from the UK and got into RPG’s with D&D & Tunnels & Trolls in 1970’s and then moved onto AD&D, Runequest & Chivelry & Sorcery. Played through to the early 1990’s (Mainly DMing AD&D) when I moved away from the hobby. Got rid of my last books when I moved in 2005.

    Discovered 5th edition via you tube a couple of years ago, after wondering where THAC0 went, I slowly got hooked, started to watch streams of game’s and product reviews. Then started buying books and backing D&D 5e related kickstarter projects, now spend my free time dreaming up plots and encounters.

    Next step is to schedule some gaming back into my life (probably using Fantasy Grounds).

    It’s lovely to see the hobby has progressed beyond the beards, sandals and pizza in a basement image (not that I have anything against any of them) to something vibrant and exciting after all this time.

    @Clint Doyle — I also got my start with the red box and recently had the AMAZING opportunity of hiring Larry Elmore who created the covers back in those days- to create a piece of inked B&W art for our Mini-Dungeon Tome (coming out in 2018). I absolutely love the old school and while I play 5E now still pull from the origins of D&D for many of my campaigns. 😉

    @john Bender — Welcome to the site and congrats on winning the December pile of loot! How are you enjoying those print books?

    @elisabeth Fields — Wait, your name seems familiar to me. Have we spoken in the past online? I run a bi-weekly Fantasy Grounds game for 5th Edition if you’re interested in being a guest star one night!

    Happy Holidays and Happy Gaming everyone! 😀

    Hi All;

    My mundane (real life) name is Mark Sim and I’ve been gaming since the Fall of 1976 when a friend introduced me to Dungeons and Dragons (it was actually called Chainmail, but it quickly changed names). I was near instantly hooked.

    I played D&D until I left town to start my career as a telephone worker, but I soon felt the urge to game and I started advertising in the various towns that I was posted too. Soon I had groups running and gaming in various towns and I would spend my off time gaming or driving to games.

    Eventually I moved to Vancouver, BC and discovered other gaming systems. I dropped D&D when I started actually fighting (I’d joined the SCA and started making armor and fighting as a ‘heavy’ fighter). But, I loved the settings for D&D and kept using them no matter what ‘system’ I was playing. Eventually I moved to Vancouver Island and began playing there.

    In the early 2000’s I discovered Fantasy Grounds and began gaming with that, as well as my tabletop groups. Soon I was using FG as a GM as I found it easier for me to keep track of things and concentrate on my ‘roleplaying’. Now I use a 55″ TV for the players maps and run the game from my computer. I run multiple games per week using the Savage Worlds system, some fantasy and a total virtual game with Deadlands Reloaded. I also run Role-Play sessions at my local game store once a week to introduce new players to gaming.

    So, I GM 3 games a week and play in a 5th Edition game once per week.

    Yep, I’m retired now. That’s how I do it. I love how gaming has been part of my life since I was a teen, and now it seems more popular than ever. I really enjoy seeing all the different kinds of games and the interesting folks who make up our community. It’s a great time to be a gamer.

    See you all;
    Mark (or Sgain, it’s been my SCA name for nearly 30 years so I’m kinda used to being called by it).

    @sgain!

    Hello Sgain / Mark!

    Welcome to the site and my personal apologies for the delay in replying! I’ve been in the middle of a big move and computers were in boxes. 😛 I hope everything is going great for you. I’m stoked to have you as a member of the site and please feel free to ask any questions you may have.

    Coming up we just might have some FG modules available for Savage Worlds with the help of some new good friends 😉

    Thank you Mark!

    Last year I went to Gary Con for the first time and had a blast! I gamed with Ernest,Heidi,Cindi and Luke Gygax!! I also met Tim Cask and a few others. I’m heading back in 2019!!

    I’m an old school gamer from way back. I started playing D&D in 1980 and haven’t looked back.

    I design my own terrain and have my own world I’m working on. I like to create adventures and new items for them. Currently I’m running two bi weekly 5E games at my home.

    I’m glad to meet you all and if want to chat Look me up on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/groups/DDNEXT/ This is one of my groups but there are links to all of them here.

    Hello Robert! I know you! 🙂

    I’m hoping to attend GaryCon within the next couple years as well. I’ve met Tim Kask and many others at Gen Con but I’ve heard Gary Con is much more of an intimate setting where you actually have time to talk and get to know people.

    Glad you’re here with us on Adventureaweek.com Robert!

    Garycon is very intimate. It amazes me how social the big names of the industry are. I sat and talked to Elmore for 45 minutes. What a great guy.
    I’d highly recommend it. If you need anything there let me know.

    Yes, Larry Elmore is an amazing human being. He and I have met and hung out many times over the years and most recently I had a phone conversation with him about our B&W piece for the Mini-Dungeon Tome that lasted hours. We really enjoyed chatting about anything and everything. He’s a great guy.

    I really do need to make it out!

    Finally sneaking over here after many years of *knowing about* this place. Been gaming since 1979. Started playing at writing products for Car Wars: Tanks and the WEG SWRPG. Started *actually* writing projects under the OGL for Pathfinder and now Starfinder under my Production Platform 3 banner. I’ve helped out on a few products – GRC’s Modern Path and Arcana for the Modern Path, several articles in Avalon’s Infinite Horizons newsletters, Starjammer, artist credit on RGG’s Time Warden… Got loads of project ideas lined up for PF and SF, as well as some system-neutral projects.

    I’m a pretty fair editor, too – and I’m available! 😀

    Hello there Michael and Happy Halloween! You picked a good day to join the site. This was always Joshua Gullion’s (Rest In Peace) favorite day of the year. He helped make Rise of the Drow possible.

    Looks like you hail from the old school which is awesome, you’ll like our C-Series adventures especially C01: Alagoran’s Gem, should bring back some memories as we pay tribute to a few of the great dungeons of yesteryear in that one.

    Hit me up with your ideas and maybe we’ll get you started on the blog. If anyone else also wants to participate please get in touch with me.

    Again, WELCOME TO THE SITE!
