Effect When this haunt is triggered, the ethereal charger dashes forward from the aether, solidifying for a single instant when it slams into a creature (+8 touch, 3d6+10 piercing damage). Creatures that remain in the ethereal charger haunt’s area have a 10% chance of drawing the spirit’s ire, attacked by the rhino’s ghost the next round that creature is in the haunt’s area.
Destruction The ethereal charger must be soothed with a DC 20 Handle Animal check and given 1d4 berries enchanted with the goodberry spell.
Adventure Hook When the Broztavya Circus recently came through the Three Sisters, things went awry in Drak’kal (Disaster in Drak’kal; subscriber link) and many of its animals escaped. Though the town guard tried to stop the rhinoceros, it broke free and rampaged through the city until a group of adventurers managed to slay the beast. When it died the beast’s essence remained torn between this realm and the next, and now there are rumors of an ethereal charger in the city’s alleyways, one that brutally slays those who cross its path.
