Blood Sconces (CR 9)


Several bronze sconces line the walls of this hallway. A thick red carpet runs the length of the hall.

When a PC passes within 10 feet of a sconce, it ignites and begins to smoke. The smoke spreads at the rate of 10 feet per round for 3 rounds, then is dissipates. While in a square with smoke, a PC must make a DC 27 Fort save or take 1d6 points of Constitution damage as their blood begins to boil, forming a red mist that trails back to the nearest sconce, where it forms a pool of blood.

After six rounds, any pooled blood explodes, damaging all targets in a 30-ft radius for 1d6 points of damage per point of accumulated lost Constitution, with a DC 27 Fortitude Save for half damage
