As the PCs explore the Dar’Spelun Slugmarsh, more of the subterranean swamp—almost all of it prohibitively dangerous—reveals itself. Parties in the Underworld bogs have already dealt with an ambush in the Tangleroot Forest, preyed upon by the voracious carrion crawler. Some of the powers that the karz slugs are able to unlock are discovered in the quicksilver amulet, and items of power that belonged to some of the former denizens (such as the chained-swords of ill fate) have surfaced as well.
Adventurers have bested the whispering woods and paranoid delusions (including phobias of many different varieties!), learned of the Sunken Fla’nag Asylum, fought spirirts from the Shroudstone, and perhaps even braved the presence of the madness slug, Nogth Ma’klurl’uth! The ghost of Torgould has revealed to the party some of the mysteries in the Dar’Spelun Slugmarsh—and that the means to bring an end to some of the madness in the Underworld locale is within their grasp!
